    Socket 775 Heatsink Advice

    Hi all,

looking to replace my ageing Zalman CPN9500 LED as its the loudest thing in my lounge, and was thinking about the Corsair H50 but have heard quite a few ppl say that its no good.

So simply looking for advise on the best socket 775 Heatsink & Fan i can get for <=£60 that's as quiet as possible!

    Many Thanks!

    Re: Socket 775 Heatsink Advice

I was under the impression the H50 is cracking for the price - I was looking at it myself but i don't have a 120mm fan slot The only reason i think it may be poor for a S775 system is if your Running a Core 2 Duo - then the majority of coolers around £20ish would be fine.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

    Re: Socket 775 Heatsink Advice

I would consider one of the Noctua units, which one depends on how much you want to spend - maybe an NH-U12P?

Oh, and this is in the wrong forum - next time, this should go in the hardware forum. I'm sure someone will move it soon though.

I have the Titan Fenrir and it's very quiet. Even with a over clocked quad. It's huge.

How much money are you looking to spend?
    Planning to overclock?

For lower cost something like the old Xigmatek HDT-S1284 would be fine (£28)
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Xigma...tel-AMD-Cooler

Main things you're looking for is a 120mm PWM fan for low noise
With a Thermaltake Soprano you shouldn't have any issues with cooler size

    Re: Socket 775 Heatsink Advice

Looking to spend no more than £60, have the chip sitting at 3Ghz.

Zalman keeps it cool (32c Idle, 47c Load!), just noisy as hell!
