    Need your help.

Made a thread before about this, basically bitching about how badly i want to play dragon age origins but my PC can't handle it. Probably deleted because of the pic of the naked chick i uploaded who's minge was concealed by the game case, a metaphor for my frustration.

    So basically.....

I'm not on my pc that much, now and then to play some Counter Strike or Team Fortress 2. These games run fine, so i went out and brought dragon age because i felt like a new game.

After searching as to why i can't run it, i realised my Radeon 9800 XT is old school and not up to date. And neither am i, seeing as i don't know much about the internal side of things, i know what does what, but not how they work and all connect, or what's best.

What i'm looking to do is go all out, get the upgrades and improve everything. I know i'll probably need a new motherboard and all sorts. Rang up a company called Geek Squad, cool dude talked to me about what i was looking at and recommended the Geforce 260 GTX, so this is what i'm set on. From what i've heard i want two of these badboys in crossfire, worth it?

So please can you guys tell me what's going down, fill me in on what's what, what i should get and what you personally thinks best. Is it even worth upgrading? Would it be cheaper than buying a new PC altogether?

    Thanks in advance.

GeForces do not Crossfire, they SLI.....for what your talking about, it sounds like multiple cards are not required in the slightest and the guy at "Geek Squad" (whoever they are!) was trying to fleece you.

Unless we know what parts are inside your computer at the moment, it's difficult to recomend anthing......the fact your gfx card is a 9800XT means the rest of the PC may need to be upgraded as well.....but as I said, unless we know what you have, it's very difficult to say.

    Re: Need your help.

I would install CPU-Z to check how much RAM you have got:

    http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

TBH, an AGP HD3850 512MB card would be the fastest AGP card I can think of currently:

    http://www.dabs.com/products/sapphir...-dvi-508W.html

OTH,I am not sure if an AGP HD3850 512MB consumes more power than a 9800XT.If it does a PSU upgrade maybe in order.

    Also,an HD3850 512MB probably would be bottlenecked by a P4 3GHZ.

However, if you want to replace your PC Mesh are doing this base unit with an HD4850 1GB and a E6300 for under £380:

Mesh also do this unit for just over £520:
