CPU: i7 920
RAM: 6GB (3x2GB) CorsairXMS3, PC3-12800 (1600)
Prolimatech Megahalems cooler
Bundle above = £471
GPU: ATI 5850 in the new year £200... keeping 2x7800GTX until 5850 available....
New HD: can someone recommend me a SSD as a boot and apps drive?
So about £670 +SSD....

The SSD I'll be going for is the intel MLC 80 GB,
has anyone got any experience of this?

Got your PM regarding this build, and yes that RAM's good. 1600MHz CAS 8, what I recommend for most people. Corsair do excellect RAM, however some of it can be a bit expensive. The XMS series tends to be the best value.

Although reluctant to until 5850s come into stock somewhere - any ideas anyone???
Personally I'd hold off on the graphics until eairly next year (aka a month or two) as 1 stocks on the ati cards should be in and 2 the new nvidia series will be out which might well shake up the ati prices.
PS that does look like a nice bundel if you want to go for i7
