they've put quite a lot of effort into making that guide, but i can't really see what they get out of it.
overclock your CPU and your PC becomes faster? doesn't everyone already know that?
Hmm not bad but it will be more interesting to see it on the lower power systems when they do them.

Agreed, it's pretty much a waste of time testing a CPU at a res that high as it will always be GPU limited. If they wanted to prove a point that in real-world situations it wouldn't matter what CPU is used, they could have done it easily enough by just including two frequencies in the review: 2Ghz and 4GHz.Quote:

Very interesting, especially the higher clocked results often out classing the higher clocked i7. Suggests there's a bottleneck building up in the i7 that AMD have managed to work around.
Most Core 2 Duos at 3GHz will be enough as well. Very few games (mostly console ports) take advantage of quad core.Quote:
