With all the hyperbole over consumption and the environment, printer manufacturers should be taken to task!!
I use a mono laser at home due to low cost per page but a few things bug me about even these (and I'm talking about the lower end of the market)
1) Those that sell the drum and toner separately - once the drum has worn out, replacement drums usually cost more than buying a new machine. How environmentally friendly can that be?
2) Those that sell cartridge with combined toner and drum - usually toner runs out well before drum actually needs repalcing - How environmentally friendly can that be?
Anyway I've been using a Samsung ML-1750 for some time now and the rubber rotating thingy that picks up the paper to feed into the drum has worn out so doesn't always pick up the paper.
This is a small (maybe one inch) long rubber cylinder but because of that it looks like I'll have to replace the entire machine unless anyone has some ideas as to how I can salvage it?
