Have You RMA'd A PSU To Corsair Europe?
Well my dilemma is in regards to a Corsair PSU I purchased locally, unfortunately, I think it might have a problem, I'll be testing more this weekend hopefully but I would like to hear from people that have used Corsair's RMA service based in the Netherlands!
How did you obtain RMA service? Procedure to setup?
How was the service?
What was the original & replacement (like for like model if EOL)?
Was it brand new/refurbished (if they do that)?
Delivery method you used & cost?
What happens if the item is tested working or the fault cannot be replicated?
Thanks, I would appreciate hearing about your experiences with Corsair's RMA service as I've only ever utilised a RMA service once and that did not go well, I got a replacement in the end but it left a bitter taste in my mouth!

Shouldn't the retailer replace it? Why do you have to go to the manufacturer?
In the UK the law puts the onus on the retailer to replace/refund goods, especially if its under warranty

Yep as above - goes back to the shop not the manufacturer.

Are you sure?
I agree that you have a statutory right to return to the retailer (albeit not necessarily that effective after 6 months have gone), not the manufacturer, but since the warranty is in extension to your statutory rights I would think that it could have pretty much any terms they want it to - including postage to Australia.

Well since the warranty is additional to statutory rights then yeah they can have any terms.
However, if he has a problem with the device then in the first 6 months the onus is on the retailer to prove that the issue is not down to a defect in the product. After 6 months he would still go after the retailer but the onus would be on him to prove the defect is with the product and not due to misuse etc. In any case my first port of call would be the retailer and if it was a reputable one, it would sort it out.
I would add that I'm no lawyer ( should be obvious by now) and that the Op should not rely on this but seek independent legal advice pertinent to his unique situation. :)

The PSU is about a year and a half old! As I also stated, it was from a local store in Brum, they were a no-go on that, said they only covered the first year, that's it!

Hmm, in my opinion it would be far more difficult to convince the shop that you could take legal action against them because the fault was definitely inherent, than it would be to invoke the warranty - even if postage would be a pain in the neck.

Now that Corsair have got a forum on here, that's quite a useful thing to bear in mind. If anything gets problematic with it, just post in there and you'll probably get a better response from them than if you followed it up solely by telephone.
