Creative Fatality Pcie OR Asus ????
Looking at putting a new Sound card in my build, have a Xi-Fi Extreme Music in my PC atm - was going to leave that in and Put one of these in the new rig - but is it the best option? Is it any better than the card I have for gaming?
OR would one of the Hi-Fi orientated Asus Cards be THAT much better with a speaker set up like the Logitech Z5500 ? If so then how do they perform with gaming?? If that is the case then I may put the XiFi Gamer in the new build and put an Asus in the older PC which could handle Itunes:)
Thanks for the comments in advance:)
Re: Creative Fatality Pcie OR Asus ????
If you're using the optical inputs with the Logitech Z5500 for gaming, then you'll probably be wanting the fully fledge X-Fi to take advantage of EAX/OpenAL.
Re: Creative Fatality Pcie OR Asus ????
It's personal preference IMO.
I have both XFi and Xonar and I use the Xonar in my main PC and relegated the XFi to the spare.
Some games you don't get the full EAX effect but the superior sound quality of the Asus card I find preferable.
YMMV

Yeah, from a purely audio quality standpoint I'd be looking at an Asus card, probably the STX or something to go with my cans.
