From what I've read since it was announced, this was what Intel were hyping up as being used to kill off nVidia and ATI.

None too surprising after a couple of other news articles recently.
Shame as well as this could have been an awesome for HTPCs.
From what thoes articals seem to say is that intel will still make the "on chip" gpu's just not discrete chips for separate cards.
The reason seems to be that they are rubbish, but if the current intel onboard graphics chipsets are any thing to go by, then why should any one be surprised?
