Which sound card from theses 2 ?

    Hello,

Just about to setup a new computer.

Should i use a Creative Sound Blaster 128 PCI V2 sound card or should i use the AC'97 sound thats onboard (Abit BD7-RAID mobo) ??

System is using for gaming, listening to MP3's and watching moives.

Which would you go for ?

    Cheers

less hassle to use the onboard one, and i doubt you would see the performance hit of using the onboard sound, never used a SB 128 card so i cant really comment on the quality of that, might be worth spending £20 or so and getting a 2nd hand audigy maybes ?

AC97 can be fine and the 128 is crapola as already stated, would only consider it in a legacy system that needed sound.
