Re: is there anyone out there?
hi i was thinking of buying the antec p183 case, i have also been looking at the asus p6x5d premium motherboard, i want to know if this will fit ok?
this will be my first build so i am looking for any information i can.
there are other things i wanted to know, would a full size case be better, i dont play games so what graphics card would be a good buy? i watch youtube and do photography so i still need a good performer! what psu would be good, 650,750,800w?

ps any recommendations would be good!:)
Re: is there anyone out there?
It may be best to PM a mod and have this moved to HEXUS.hardware
Re: is there anyone out there?
If you mean the P6X58
http://www.engadget.com/2009/07/20/a...h-usb-3-0-por/
That looks like a standard ATX board and the P183 is an ATX case so should fit.
Re: is there anyone out there?
would the opening poster like this thread moved to the Hardware forum? I will do so if required :)

That motherboard would fit just fine in the P183. You will like the great cooling capability of the P183 and the nice build options it contains.
Hope that helps some!

What software are you using? if you're using photoshop cs2 or higher then an nvidia crad would be best for the cuda acceleration.
However nothing major is needed.
A gts250 would probably be the best for price vs performance.
Will the motherboard fit in a p183, yes, with ease.
There's still very few different sizes of motherboard and they are all fixed standards.
PSU will depend on graphics card, but a good 450-500 is all you should need.
I'm seriously stressing "GOOD" here, PSU's are far more about the quality of the unit not the "supposed" number watt's it can produce.
the PSU is one area you shouldn't cut corners, but at the same time no need to go crazy.
Re: is there anyone out there?
To be honest, a 400W should do nicely anyway provided it has decent ampage on the rails, such as an Corsair CX400W.

From experience, I'd definately second that. I've only owned one PC for 7 years. It's been crunching SETI@home workunits so it's been on 24/7. I'm on my third PSU, all of them not major brands but cheap versions. The PSU's are the only things that have worn out - the rest has been fine.
My next PC will be my first self-build, and the PSU will be something I won't skimp on.
Re: is there anyone out there?
i will be using cs3, lightroom, nikon capture so i will need something quick!
my thoughts on a case have changes, i am falling in love with the corsair 800d! and the asus
p6x58d premium motherboard!
if i am using most of the fans to go with the case will there always be enough plug space on a motherboard?
also- could i take my hdrive from my current pc, and put it into the new case?
this would save alotof time i presume?
