Six full length PCI-E slots seems OTT though.

Nice, 890FX just a continuation for phenom II with view to new CPUs coming in 2010?
Well, How many 1x cards are there out there....
All the cards that are really useful on PCIe are mainly 8x or 16x. Sticking 1x and 4x slot is just wasting space on the motherboard. I think having 6 of those is just brilliant, even if it only have 4x each. power users can easily populate 6 slots (2x GPU, 2x RAID, 1x GbE, 1x Sound)
This will make a super hardcore NAS, beef it up with 4x RAID6 card and a quad GbE card and you get 600MB/s network throughput and 2.5GB/s disk speed/

"six PCI Express x16 slots" Looking at the picture of the PCI slots and the size of the high end graphics cards these days, I wonder how many can you really fit on that board!!
Has the NB been moved closer (next to) the CPU or does it disappear on the new 890 boards ?

CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
i wonder how this would compete with the x58 because i currently u can get a good x58 board with sli and crossfire for £120 with postage

Scan and Ebuyer both list retail Core i7 920 processors at over £200 and of course you do realise that the Core i5 750 is a socket 1156 processor and the x58 is a socket 1366 chipset.
OTH,this article should be of interest to you too:

Scan were also fdoing some good i7 bundles on Today only recently. So much so I was tempted to go for an i7 based machine, but for surfing and MS office work I thought that was overkill.
And also I think the upgrade options for the 1366 socket are going to be limited
