    Prolimatech Megahalems 1156 mounting question

On Scan's Today Only, it has the Prolimatech Megahalems on offer.
I'm a bit disappointed that although the 1156/1366/775 and 1366/775 version usually sell for the same price (£45.97), the non-1156 version is a fair bit cheaper at £36.79, as opposed to £43.69.

My question is, as the retention module is also on Today Only, (at £5.46), if I were to buy this, and the 1366/775 SKU, would these effectively make the 1156/1366/775 version?

I guess what I'm really trying to ascertain is whether they've changed anything else on the newer SKU, or is it just the updated mounting?

    Cheers all!

Re: Prolimatech Megahalems 1156 mounting question

Supports Intel Socket 775, 1366, and the new 1156. Includes two sets of fan clips for a duo-fan (push-pull) set up.

The original only has 1 set of clips, hence them being sold seperately at >£3.

You'll only be saving less than two quid getting the two separately anyway right?

This is entirely true - however, if it turned out that the bundle vs the one kit were otherwise exactly the same - there's no harm in saving the £2

@ sadbuttrue - thanks for that - that might make up my mind for me then!

This might be of use: link

Particularly: "[...] Prolimatech released the bigger and better version of the Megahalems. Now it comes with extra set of fan clips for even better cooling results. It also includes the new all-in-one backplate for an easy, convenient installation on Intel Socket 775, 1156, and 1366. Also added to the upgrade package is the new material for the top fin on this "Mega" heatsink. This particular fin is made of all stainless steel. Its main features incorporate a greater resistance to accidental scratches and oxidation."
