    What Case To Get

Hey guys i just need to buy a case now for my build but didnt want to buy one then regretting buying it after. I have a budget of £40-£50 for the case and wanted something that has lots of space and good air flow, i don tmind what it looks like aslong as it has some space to fit a 5850 in.

    Thanks

    Re: What Case To Get

Personally would be looking towards a Antec 300 or a Coolermaster CM 690 V2 (slightly outside ya budget at £54) both come with 2 included fans and should be able to fit a 5850 in.

    Re: What Case To Get

Perhaps the NZXT Beta Evo or M59 will also do. Gamma is a possibility too if you don't mind the looks (I personally find it very ugly).

Here's a screenshot of my M59 if you're interested, I got a new cooler coming so I've just stuck with my Arctic Cooling Alpine Pro 7 haha.

It only cost £44 off Scan. Beta Evo will be even cheaper and Gamma even cheaper than that haha.

Well here's a selection of cases that are likely to suit you and are within budget with the pricing in an ascending order (Ebuyer or Scan only):
    Xigmatek Asgard Black: £29.79 (Scan)
    Antec VSK-2000: £29.90 (Scan)
    Antec 200: £34.03 (Scan)
    NZXT Gamma: £34.50 (Ebuyer)
    NZXT Beta Evo: £35.62 (Scan)
    NZXT M59: £43.44 (Scan)
    Akasa Freedom Xone: £45.39 (Scan)

    Re: What Case To Get

The Antec 300 is still an exellent choise

    Ulti's list is pritty good

Personally I'd not bother with the Asgard, the midguard is far better (but more expensive)

Also I'd add the Silverstone Precision PS02B to the list as well
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Silve...r-Case-w-o-PSU @£36.77 (scan)
The cable routing is not the best due to the solid motherboard tray, but size wise it's decent.

The Cooler Master 690 and the Xigmatek Midgard are cases worth really considering IMO.

Also, both gives you good cable management system

Wow i quite like the M59 over the antec 300 but was just wanted to get a second opinion on it before i buy it. Also silly quesion i knwow but does it come with fans already or do i have to buy them and if it does would it be worth buying additional fans for it aswell.

    Re: What Case To Get

It comes with the blue LED fan on the side and another similar one (no LEDs) on the back.

Personally I didn't bother with the 2 fan slots at the top but I put in a fan at the front as an intake. I don't think an intake is that important but it does help the system stay cooler and helps cool down the hard drive by a nice amount (although HDDs are quite unlikely to overheat or anything)

In the end it's up to personal choice, a fan at the front might lower CPU temps by 1 or 2 degrees and perhaps the graphics card by a degree. I like the red front fan though myself haha.

Perhaps go through this thread to make a decision on an intake fan: http://www.velocityreviews.com/forum...worthless.html (Dates from 2004 though but I guess it'll still apply)

Yup, the front, side and back support 120mm. The top supports 2x 120mm or 140mm.

    +1 for the M59

All are fine choices, I've just bought the M59 and populated all the fan mounts, but had no where to mount my 3.5" fan controller.
It is currently very noisy, but I'll knock that on the head ASAP!

Too thin ? The 690 is a nice case no argument, but everything fits in my 300 easily...Noctua U12 is the tallest and that's no prob at all.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

    Re: What Case To Get

I recently got the Lian-Li PC-A06 from Scan - on clearance at £40

Nice case - aluminium construction, nice ruuber gromet system for hard drives.

No reset button though but I can live with that.

PSU at the bottom. Plenty of width as I have a ATX board with a Prlimatech Megahalems tower cooler and it all fits in

I have removed the blue front light as it obscures the front grill - with the blue light thingy removed the air flow is excellent.

Sadly only 80mm fan at rear but I have removed this and just run two 120mm fans on the Heatsink
