    Samsung F3 500GB or Western Digital Cavair Black 500GB??

    One of my Samsung Spinpoint T 320GB hard disks is on the fritz so I need to get a replacement pronto. I am not only looking for speed,but also a 500GB hard disk which is quite reliable and is not very noisy.
    I was looking at the Samsung F3 and the Western Digital Caviar Black and what is the best one to choose??

    I've got an F3 and its fast enough IMO, wouldn't mind 2 in RAID0 - but im sure your the last person i need to tell about its stats Anyhow, it runs at 23c in my case and has never gone above 27c and is very quiet.

    Both my F3 drives seem louder than the old Seagate 7200.7 and 7200.8 they replaced. As for temperature, with an ambient of 16c they run at 19c and 21c with a 120mm fan running at 5v.

    I went with the Samsung F3 in the end as it was cheaper than the Western Digital Caviar Black 500GB.
