When I tried booting up my computer today it kept stalling before the boot menu and one of the hard discs kept cycling on and off(didn't sound like clicking though although it is hard to tell with this drive) and this had XP installed on it. The other disc has Vista on it and the boot loader on it. I managed to boot using another disc which had Windows 7 on it(I also kept the disc which had issues plugged into the motherboard) and it took a while for the computer to recognise the problematic disc. However after a while when the disc had warmed up I had no issue copying files over to another disc.
I again mucked around with the discs and now the computer boots fine with the problematic disc in it unlike before. The SMART data looks fine although I have not tried HUTIL yet.
It is worth just replacing the disc with something like a 500GB F3 or do you think this is a one off problem with the disc??
