    New HDD, new dvd drive and look at this :(

    Hi guys, i just bought a new 1tb hdd and a new dvd writer drive for my htpc and i am in the process of installing windows 7 on it again but my screen is all messed up now.

    here is my htpc specs
    • ABIT ice-7 pro Socket 478 Mobo
    • 2gb DDR Ram
    • Nvidia 7800GTX AGP Card(i had a ATI 9800gtx before)
    • Intel Pentium 4 3.2ghz northwood
    • Seasonic 450w PSU

    My friends display looked similar on his windows 7 setup, looked fine once installed though...

    That looks like setup is being forced to use very few colours. It will probably be fine once you have got the proper graphics drivers installed and you can increase the colour depth.

    Every OS installs like this if there are no standard gfx drivers that will do.

    Just install as per normal - it is fine. To be expected really
