Shuttle Power Button Problem

I have a SN45G and when I turn it on the fans and hdd etc start up but it doesn't post, but if i then press the reset button it boots fine. I have checked the connections, and the bios settings but can't see anything wrong. Anyone any ideas? It also doesn't like shutting down sometimes it will just stop at the windows is shutting down screen and not turn off, other times it is fine.

Try clearing the cmos to make sure its not something up with that.

I would doubt its the power switch as if it was broken you wouldnt be able to turn it on

Sounds to me like my SN45G when I put it into suspend mode. To wake it up from S3 mode (where the RAM is still powered but everything else shuts down) I have to hit the power button followed by the reset button. Just check in the bios whether you have it set to instant off on the power button and what suspend mode its going to.

Right just had a play with it. It seems it is something to do with the montior connection. It has a 9600Pro gfx card connected to a Hyundai Q17 using DVI. Now it works fine with no monitor connected and using the VGA port but when I connect the DVI you have to press the reset button for it to post I have tried reseating the gfx card and clearing the CMOS both to no avail. Can't think of anything else to try. This one has me

Hmmm it sounds like the gfx card is outputting to the VGA and not the DVI. Maybe an update firmware for the card? not sure

I've got the exact same problem with my SN45G (with ATI Radeon 9600 connected via DVI to my display). I find the solution is to press reset after turning the thing on... Have tried various other things - all to no avail... I do think it is something to do with the DVI... hmmm....
