Shower shorts, for the man who has nothing to hide, but still wants to.
Reset/Clear the BIOS by either using the reset switch if there's one or taking the CMOS battery out.
Also reseat your CPU cooler if BIOS clearing fails.

Try to boot with 1 stick of RAM only.
Failing this there's hardly any other ideas apart from testing each and every single piece of hardware :S

Unplug all the drives, memory and graphics card from the motherbaord and try to boot, assuming you have some kind of speaker / buzzer plugged into or built into the motherboard you should get a series of beeps (complaining there is no memory or graphics). If you get no beeps then it is likely either mobo / cpu or psu is dead. If you get some beeps try plugging things in one at a time till you get no beeps, the last thing you plugged in is the faulty item.

I had this issue with my P5K-e, and thought it was the graphics card (1 long beep, 3 short), which it was but in a roundabout way. When I plugged my x1950 in, the system worked fine. But, the x1950 only uses 1 PCI-e power lead whereas the 4890 uses 2. My 2nd power lead had come out of the PSU end a bit, which was enough for the graphics not to start. I pushed it in until it clicked and hey presto, system worked with 4890 in. One embarrassed e-mail to XFX followed, cancelling the support ticket...

I'd start to methodically replace/unplug parts of your components. I.e
- Alternate RAM sticks, to test for a dodgy stick.
- Alternate Onboard/PCI-E Graphics.
- Reset BIOS
- Reseat Processor Cooler, some motherboards can detect if there's not enough conductivity.
- Clean it if you have some compressed air.
If you can get it to post, make sure you have the correct voltages for your CPU, and things are all setup correctly in BIOS i.e RAM voltage (Might be written on your Ram stick).
What a pain in the arse eh

Nice one, glad you got it sorted, sounds like one of those weird pc moments, you must have a loose / dirty connection on one of the power connections. reseating it has sorted it, definatelty one to remember "just in case".
At least it didn't sound like it took that long to solve today, half an hour gap between your two posting times.
Glad you got it sorted. Didn't seem like anything was wrong, just some sort of dodgy connection somewhere as everyone says I guess.
