Little E4500 overclocking help.
Hey all.
Ok, so thought would give this another try. Ran into the same issue again as my motherboard doesnt have a 1:1 divider thingey (Gigabyte G33m-DS2r). So at the moment, have the divider set at 3.33 and the CPU set at 240 x11, so giving me just shy of 2.7Ghz overclock.

Ram is DDR2800, so that means I can push to a 400Mhz FSB before I start overclocking it or can I, as the Divider is 3.33 not 1:1 and by that logic at 400Mhz FSB theres 4.4Ghz on the table, which sounds insane and would have my 800 Ram running at 1600. Looking at the above piccy, I have put a 160Mhz overclock on the Ram already havent I?

Read the sticky again and I must be missing something here. Help!
Re: Little E4500 overclocking help.
Your RAM is running at 800Mhz (Stock) as the FSB to RAM Ratio is 1:3.33
240 x 3.33 = 799.2
Re: Little E4500 overclocking help.
I would run the RAM in a 1:2 ratio with the FSB so the RAM won't be overclocked even if you get the CPU to 3.2GHZ and use 25 iterations of IntelBurnTest to check for stability.
Re: Little E4500 overclocking help.
Cheers guys! Its my maths and stupidity, course its 3.33 x 240 DOH!
No 1:2 option, Cat. Googled and checked Gigabyte site, they did release a BIOS update that gave 1:2.66 for the S2, but bugger all for the DS2R. :( Only options I have to play with are 3.33 and 4.00.
Bit stuck now then.. hmmm
Re: Little E4500 overclocking help.
Just up the multiplier to 12.5 lol
Re: Little E4500 overclocking help.
Am I missing something? :p
With pure blind luck, found an official Gigabyte BIOS update that allegedy will add 2.66. So that should solve all my problems and get things in the direction of 300/3.3GHz. Just gotta try and find a floppy drive now.
