"Unleashing mode failed" when trying to unlock amd cpu

Hi, im trying to unlock my amd athlon x2 5000 (45nm) on a asus m3a78-t mobo, as far as i know, part of the process involves enabling ACC to auto and "Unleashing mode" in the bios.

When i boot up after this it says unleashing failed in the post. Is this a sign that the cores cannot be unlocked?

    If not, then what next?

    Thanks

Sounds like a distinct possibility that you'll struggle to unlock the cores if it's fighting at stock core voltage. After all, you've technically only paid for a 2.2GHz dual core

    *BUT*

    a) do try just resaving BIOS settings letting it reboot normally - my Sempy 140 + 785-EVO combo sometimes fails unleashing on cold boot but will start OK on restart.

    b) try nudging your core voltage up a notch or two. My Sempy only ever fails to unleash @ 1.05V - when I return it to the stock 1.35V it runs fine. (I've actually chosen to run it as a single core undervolted though - it's only in an HTPC and I'd rather save power than boost performance ).

now correct me if im wrong but the x2 5000 is a native dual core processor so you'll be doing very well to unlock cores that dont physically exist?!?

The 45NM 2.2GHZ X2 5000+ is based on the Phenom II. However it only has a DDR2 memory controller.
