Movie Playback Specification Help
Hello All,
I have had a new 32" LG panel for xmas and want to get my movies that i have been ripping digitally down stairs, currently i watch them on my 24" imac upstairs. What kind of specification would i need to get them to play at 1080p i don't want to encode on this machine or rip dvd's or watch tv or play games i just want to be able to watch the movies.
If anyone knows what spec i would need and if i could do it for under £200 i would be greatful.
Many Thanks
Richard

This is what I would get:
Antec Micro Fusion Remote VERIS Media Center Case ~ £80

ASROCK M3A785GMH/128M ~ £59

2GB DDR3 ~ £42

AMD Sempron 140 ~ £25

Western Digital WD5000AAKS 500GB ~ £35

Pioneer 22x DVD±RW DL & RAM SATA Black Drive ~ £18

However the build come to around £260 excluding the cost of an OS!
The other alternative is to look at an Ion nettop:

The nettops already have an OS pre-installed and although they are not very powerful they should be able to playback 1080p content smoothly according to reviews:
