Well you could get a G31/33 Intel board for around £30-50, or the newer G41/43/45 range which start around the same price but generall cost more.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Re: help me pick a 775 matx motherboard

You should have gone with one of the Athlon II processors as they are better for gaming:

    http://en.inpai.com.cn/doc/enshowcont.asp?id=6700

The AMD Athlon II processors are not only clocked higher but the sub £60 socket AM2+ and AM3 motherboards tend to be have better overclocking features too.

You may want to look at this P31 based motherboard:

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/151053

However P31,P41,G31 and G41 based socket 775 motherboards run more stably using two DIMMs.

Re: help me pick a 775 matx motherboard

I've heard good things about the Gigabyte board, personally when I first had my E5300 I got a P5KPL-AM Asus board and overclocked it to a measly 3.1ghz on stock. (Couldn't adjust voltages)

If you're not planning any overclocking at all then it won't really matter that much as they're essentially going to be the same once up and built.

The Gigabyte GA-P31-ES3G I linked to seems to be OK for overclocking:

    http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/...0927_11_0.html

    http://forum.***********.net/showthread.php?t=26134

    http://www.overclock.net/intel-mothe...31-es3g-5.html

    The blanked out part is o v e r c l o c k 3 d without the spaces.

    The motherboard supports the E5200:

Re: help me pick a 775 matx motherboard

the S775 board CAT listed is not an mATX one so it will be too big!

I would look at these mATX motherboards as they use the G43 chipset and have the ICH10 southbridge:

I am not sure how good these motherboards are for overclocking though!

Think the main difference is between the onbaord graphics and video outputs. I know the second number 1/3/5 means it uses a different south-bridge so using a G31 may give you less USB ports than a G35 - it's all on wikipedia if i remember...

    Hi iamipodman,

The G41 supports 8GB RAM compared to the 4GB the G31 supports. I think there is only a few pounds difference now so I would go for the G41 Hope that helps.

I would be going for the G43 based motherboards as they have the newer ICH10 southbridge.

The G43 also has PCI-E 2.0 whereas the G41 uses PCI-E which is slower.

    Asus P5QL-VM EPU
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Asus-...Micro-ATX-VGA#
Should support the memory you've gone for (I cannot double check atm as Asus's site seems to be down)
That memory was a mistake btw, unless you got it very cheap, no need for such high spec memory pc2-6400 would of been more than enough.
