    Home pc ~£400

I have to buy a complete pc for a family member and the only requirement I have been given is that it must be able to play the SIMS. Therefore I need a pc with an alright graphics card, big hard drive for all her music and something which had be potentially upgraded in the future in terms of graphics...

Ive seen this one at £499 but was hoping for something a little closer to the £400 mark. Anyone seen anything or think this looks grand?

    TIA,
    Aidso

I would look at one of these two Mesh computers:

An HD4850 is able to run even Crysis at decent settings.

Ive considered the custom build, but the worry is that I would be right over the budget in a hurry

I did a quick check and it would be hard to get a decent spec including a copy of an OS unless you can get a cheap student copy of Windows 7.

The dual core Mesh should do the job. However as with all ready built PCs the manufacturers tend to go with cheaper motherboards so the upgrade options maybe limited.

However and HD4850 and a Pentium E6300 should be enough for playing The Sims AFAIK.
