Greetings,
A friend has asked advice on a gaming computer for around £700 and I said I'd check on here first.
This is what he came up with:
Rip it apart; input greatly appreciated.

Needlessly expensive motherboard, if you want to save get an MSI c45 for £50, or if you want to spend that much get an MSI GD70, or smack bang in the middle is teh Gigabyte 790x ud4p.

The HD5770 is also cheaper on Ebuyer.
This is what I would look at getting:
AMD Phenom II X4 955BE ~ £122

Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P ~ £67

4GB 1600MHZ DDR3 ~ £82

Run this at 1333MHZ using lower latencies.
500W Silverstone Strider ST50F ~ £54

Antec 300 case ~ £39

Samsung F3 500GB ~ £38

SATA DVD rewriter ~ £16

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit OEM~ £78

HD5850 1GB ~ £245

The build is over budget but should be able to run most games fine:

Hopefully the price of the HD5850 should start to decrease as supposedly more cards should be available now.
