    Intel P57 chipset

    Hi
Notable by it absence from the new Intel H55, 57, Q57 chipsets amd associated MB's anounced this week was the P57 which I believe is the replacement for the P55 with a few more bells and whistles.
I wonder if its still going to appear or could there be a large stock of P55's to deplete.

If that came out any time soon, it'd prob miff off a few people who bought high end P55 boards!

I doubt it'll be a replacement - more like a topend enthusiast chipset. Given that P55 boards aren't cheap anyway, I hate to think how much they'll charge for a P57...

The only difference between H55/7 is to do with the PCH anyway IIRC, if that carrys on over to the P series i'd hardly call it a 'loss'.

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

    Re: Intel P57 chipset

Intel dropped it a while back when it was clear braidwood wasn't mature/neccessary.

If they find a way of getting braidwood back then we'll probably see p57 boards.
