ie, running at 200+ fsb. Trying to clock my 2100+ but it isn't stable at 200. Bothe the mobo (nf7-s v2) and the ram (3500 mishkin) should be able to do it, but neither has been tried at that speed. Could it be the CPU?

Yes. Some don't like it
Im guessing thats a good thing then. Now to mke it default to 166fsb, i take it theres either a pin or bridge trick.
/me runs to google
the wire mod is great, my 1700+ could only do 220x11 at first then when i done the mod i was cruisin at 235fsb :->
search xtremesystems forum for the l-12 mod, theres a mega thread on it.
What is the wire mod korky?
Ditto, and I assume it was a Thoroughbred?Quote:

Cant try it now cos ive just broke my damn cpu :(
Processors not taking to the higher fsb is a myth, maybe years ago but now they don't really care. The very first bartons were picky but now the yields have improved i don't think there's a processor by AMD that gets upset when it's ran at 200FSB or more.
as stubzz said, dont be scared btw, get in there and wire the 2 pins, i wired the wrong pins twice, doesnt affect the cpu at all if done wrongly.
a 2100+ sounds like a pally, which is going nowhere fast
so true, might be tbredb ahuib however...
Yeah it was one of the really good clocking ones, JHIUB i think. First CPU I ever killed as well :/
