Looking to build a SSF PC, I have a Sugo SG02 help me fill it.

    Hi All,

First post so be gentle. I am looking to replace my current home PC as it's getting a bit slow and clunky and I am giving up rebuilding/replacing parts.

Last year I purchased a SILVERSTONE SUGO SG02-BF Black with the intention of building a PC using it (and it was on sale so I got it for £24) but I got made redundant and never finished the project. I am back working now and looking to get on with this one.

I already have some parts which I intend to use:

    OCZ ModXStream -Pro 500W PSU,
    Silverstone NT06-E x5
4GB (2x2GB) OCZ Reaper Ram (I also have 2x 2GB Black Geil Reaper Ram)
    1TB WD Green HD

So I am looking for recommendations for a Mobo, CPU and GPU. Ideally I would like to spend no more than £300 for that lot. The PC will be a workhorse rather than a gaming rig but I will occasionally fire up a game of Left for dead.

    What do you recommend?

As far as mobo and CPU go, to match your existing DDR2 memory (I'm assuming it's DDR2; please correct me if not!) I'd probably suggest the same as I have recently in another thread:

Those two cost ~ £185 together, leaving you £115 for the GPU.

If you're impatient, that's enough for a HD5750 / HD5770 (depending on how close to the budget you want to sail), but it may be worth holding off a week or two, as ATI are due to launch the lower end 5000 series cards shortly (5670 / 5570 etc) and they may well be more than sufficient for your needs. These should cost around £50 - £70, bringing you in well below budget.

The Asus M3A78-T is on offer today for around £58 on Scan if the OP has bought DDR2:

If the OP does not want to overclock one of the 95 watt X4 945 processors would do the job:

Thanks guys. It is DDR2 Ram.

I will take a look at the suggestions posted.

Just got the kids new build in a Sugo SG01-Evo up and running, hope it might help you in some way if you want a nose through the thread.

I have been offered an unused ASUS M3N78-VM mobo for £10. Is it any good? I think it has onboard video which I wouldn't use anyway.

I would go for the M3N78-VM if it is only £10.
