Cosmos S HDD light or power light ? always on

    Hi Guys.
I have just done a new i7 build using gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 mobo and cosmos s case.
the led on the front case furthest to the left [looks like a can of beer mmmmm] is always on. is this the power light or hdd activity light?
if the later shouldnt it go on and off?
i used coloured cables as positive and black and white ones as negative when installing the front panel cables.
    have i got things wrong?
    is it a problem?
thanx guys i am getting confused
    PZ

left sides the hdd, and it should be off unless there is activity, check you have it on the right pins.

I don't have experience with your mobo or case but i do know about case LEDs. If by a "beer can" you mean the light with a cylinder next to it, this should be the HDD light so it shouldn't be on all the time, only when you or your PC accesses the HDD (obviously), perhaps you have wired up the HDD LED to the wrong connection. I suggest you check your motherboard and case manuals to check where the connections should go.

Don't worry about it too much though, I recently moved my old mobo to a new case and could barely get the power button connected correctly because the mobo is so old and I couldn't find a manual for it. I just unplugged them and kept just the reset and power buttons connected. You should be able to manage without it if you can't get it working, the HDD light I have never used personally.

    Hope I have helped,
    Steve
