How did you break it?
Surely they cant be that easy to break.
Anyway youll probably need the model number but see if you can find it here Sony US
They look expensive.

i crushed the end bit (bit where it goes into the laptop), they are expensive. i fund a website 2 weeks ago, did the thing for £50, but cant find it now , theyt have it in ebuyer for £90, oh well
thx for the help
You mean you broke the plug on the laptop end?
If this is the case there is no way i'd pay £90 for a repllacement. Surely it cant be that hard to fix. I dont know sony laptops but do they use generic plugs or are they semi standard? Either way i'd definatly have a go at fixing it first.
A trip to Maplin will tell you if the plug is generic or not. If you can find a plug to match it, cut of the existing plug, strip down the wire and solder the new one on.
For joy, apparently, it was all Franny could do to hold the phone, even with both hands.
nah, i been to this electri... place, they said that its special made so you have to buy the whole thing againOriginally Posted by Merlin
so come on lads one last look at the net for '19v sony vaio adapter', before i buy it for £97 from ebuyer
thanks
Do you have a digital camera that you could use to take a pciture and show us what is broken exactly? Dont always believe electriblokies just cos they work in a shop.

The cow is of the bovine ilk;
One end is moo, the other, milk.
nah im at college, i drew it, its special made, you have to buy the part from sony, which could take a while
im still looking at google to find the cheapest i can !!!
Serlex, any chance you could tell us WHICH vaio it is, as in model number, please? Different models=different wattage even if the voltage is the same.
yeah thats what im worried about, i thought all the vaio laptops use the same adapter, because in ebuyer:http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=47687
they only have one adapter...
any way MODEL is (are)
it says model: PCG-9E6M, at the buttom of laptop
and
model: PCG-FX702, just by the keyboard, wtf im confused
You can buy 3rd party replacements for about the £50-£60 mark, but in terms of original parts, the cheapest I could find was http://www.greatsaves.co.uk/product.asp?id=2520 £79 inc VAT. Is that any use to you?
dam it, to late, i ordered it from ebuyer of £97,Originally Posted by nichomach

hope its the right one
thanks for the help anyway
I hope so too - all the refs I can find list that adapter for the GR-series machines, but it could well be cross-compatible. Guess you'll find out soon though.
