Decent uATX case

My new build (NAS/Media server/ HTPC) needs a new house and i've been looking at those Sugo cases from Silverstone but im curious about what cooling is like.
The build will most likely be around a 785G & Sempron/Athlon X2/3 e editions.
What are these like both cooling and build quality wise, other suggestions are welcome as well but i don't want to be going over the top in regards to cost - i'd prefer to stay towards the 'cube' shape of the Sugo than say, a P180.

The case does seem hard to get hold of nowadays.

If you were going for a mini-ITX based build I would suggest the Lian Li Q07:

I've a Silverstone Sugo SG03B, I must say I was concerned in regards to the cooling, I've installed a couple of good 120mm fans, a bit loud, not overly so but shift 57CFM into the case.

Have the E4500 in G45 motherboard with a stock Intel cooler, a HD4670 GPU, 320Gb HDD, Pioneer DVD-RW and using a non modular Corsair CX400W, the CPU temps read wait for it....18°C/19°C at idle (not in the awful weather, it was 12°C/13°C with the snow) and at load 34°C/36°C, used MX-2.

Build quality is great, although there are some even gaps between the joints but I presume that's to aid cooling? Disturbed Guy has one of these too, he did a review/build thread.

All in all, I'm happy with the temps. Whatever you choose, have a look for reviews, you can't go wrong hopefully.

As far as mATX cases go I'm a big fan of the Antec Minuet 350 when you can find them.

I used a case from CCL which was £16.45 for my server

It was surprisingly good! It has mounts for 1x120mm, 1x92mm and 1x80mm fans so the cooling to pretty good, looks the part too. I'm not usually one to go for cheap cases but after using it I cant see the problem.

I chose it primarily because it has 6x 3.5" HDD bays with a 120mm sucking air right over them; great for a NAS or server really. Granted theres no thumbscrews or tool-less bays but for the price I wasnt expecting them.

I can also recommend this case, I use it with my main PC at home. Its a little smaller than some uATX towers but the cooling is second to none.

I have the original version of the Antec NSK1380 - back when it was called the Aria and came with a multi-card reader and front firewire - I couldn't find it last time I posted but it looks like Scan now have it in stock.

I love my Aria to bits - one of the best cases I've ever used. It's such a shame they gimped all the best features and then the price went through the roof - as good as it is it's hard to recommend it @ more than £80...


EDIT: just googled to see if the Aria's available anywhere - apparently used ones can go for > £110
EDIT2: If you dont' mind shopping on Fleabay someone's selling one with some old hardware included: listing here - starts @ £49.99 + £20 postage though...

That Antek NSK 1380 looks really cool IMO

£80 is not too bad if the PSU it comes with is a good quality one as you have to pay in the region of £40 for a decent PSU these days

The Antec one looked good, and im back-tracking here, but what are your thoughts on the P180 mini? The internal seems to be aluminium (epic bonus) and it actually looks bad ass IMO. I suppose £60-ish isn't bad for what seems a decent quality case.

I alread have a PSU (two actually) its CWT so not Qtec which also irked me a bit about the NSK.

I can't speak for the 1380, but the Aria PSU is good quality - fairly typical of Antec really (ignoring their slightly shoddy Basiq's, that is ). The 1380 psu has an 80plus certification so it can't be that bad

As I said, I love my Aria, and the 1380 is basically the same. I guess removing the front firewire is neither here nor there really, but the card reader really makes it for me and I don't understand why they dropped such a good feature. If the case had an external 3.5" drive bay I could kind of understand it, because then you could add your own, but without that I just think it's a less useful case...
