Soundcard --> hifi ?

Hey, is it possible to connect a soundcard to a Sharp CD-PC651? This is a standard hi-fi, with 2 AV inputs (Video 1 and 2). This is NOT seperates. I know i may not have give enough detail, but more including a pic can be found HERE . Thanks in advance

Line out on the sound card to line in on the stereo then switch the stereo to Aux, it should be easy enough.

yup thats how i link to my similar system (panasonic tho) when i go back home, your better off buying a proper amp and speakers then using a digital cable tho like i do at uni =)

still that sharp system will be better than even the most expensive PC speakers so go for it

Yeah, all you would need to do is connect the lineout from your soundcard into on of the AUX inputs and you're away. Cables wise it depends what the connections on the back of the hifi are. It will either be a standard headphone style 3.5mm jack, or it will be phonos (separate left and right channels) and at the soundcard end it will be a 3.5mm jack. So you'll need either a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable (Maplins os good for this). Or a 3.5mm to phono like this:-

yes and compared it to both of my amps/speakers in the same room. The megaworks look great on paper but in practice - at high volumes anyway - they cant compare to my proper amp/speakers, and are matched like for like by my cheap hi-fi.

Really? Thats interesting. You begin to wonder what the rest of the Creative range is like if the top-of-the-range stuff is outdone by a cheap hi-fi!

Done Sounds very deep and bassy. Improvement on the ZXR-500's. Actually, just thinking about it, i have a 6 channel sound card. So maybe i could use the PC speakers AND the hifi, that will give me a 7.1 setup at the least!

EDIT: Ahem, Cheap? That 5 speaker 3 disk thingy majiggy set me back £200 around two to three years ago. That more than twice as much as my pc speakers were!
