    I got it in a place called dekko (boucher road, belfast [www.dekko-online.com]), for £3.00. But you could use anything.

    the adaptor is a usb-ide converter , which can be bought from maplin or ebuyer (there are probably other reatillers too).

    AS for a stand alone raid array i did see an external box that would hold up to 4 hd or cd drives on a cbit write-up and on some website here. So maybe that would be what you want???
