Got a nice little case, what to do with it?
Hey all.
I managed to pickup this case for the bargin price of £2 brand new. Yes two quid, it seems to retail elsewhere for twenty-odd. Also it came with the 300w PSU.
Very sturdy little case, and I'm massively impressed for £2 :)
Now then, what to do with it? I was thinking of a very quiet/silent bedroom PC attached to a TV? I tried to spec up a quick system last night and the price was a little on the high side. If I did go with a bedroom PC it would be used pretty much exclusively for watching random crap (DVDs, AVIs etc). I assume I wouldn't need much power-wise, but what about HD content? - it would probably be hooked up to a cheap 26" or whatever was on offer when I had the cash. I would like wireless network access if that makes much of difference?
However, I'm not fixed on the idea of a bedroom PC, so any other suggestions welcome. :rockon2:

Nice looking case. Good price too.
mATX gives you quite a lot of options for mobos.
You could probably build a nice machine for circa £200 I would say
£100 for CPU +mobo. £35 RAM, £20 Optical drive, £30 HDD
You would have to use on-board video at that price level though

for £2 that's an unbelievable find. I still have a 360b that I can't bring myself to sell because it's such a good little desktop case.
As far as what to do with your goes: a bedroom pc ain't a bad idea, go for a cheapish 780G / 785G mobo, a Sempron 140 and 2GB DDR3 and that'll easily handle DVDs / avis and HD content (particularly since Flash will support GPU acceleration soon - great for youtube and iplayer :D) - or you could invest a bit more and make a decent LANning box - get a cheaper mobo, a better CPU (Phenom II X3 705e?) and stick in a low profile HD4650 - or get a 790GX matx mobo and a HD3470 and go hybrid crossfire!
