Unhappy Just spent the whole morning installing a new PSU :'(

Soo.. My HX620W has decided to go pop, and it's taken my SSDs with it. But at least the rest of the system is fine.

I've had to put an old Hiper Type-R 550w into it, which is an ok PSU for the moment but I need some advice on how to RMA the HX620W.

I can't find the invoice anywhere, doubt I've still got it tbh. And my Scan order history no longer exists due to the merging of 2 accounts for the free delivery on a different account.

Is the HX620W now EOL? Does this mean that I'll receive a different PSU than the one I bought? Do Corsair do any kind of "insurance on damaged products" due to their PSU being the cause of the death of my 2 SSDs?

Damn that sucks, not a good start to the day. Might be an idea to drop a note into: http://forums.hexus.net/corsair-care-hexus/ and see what the best course of action might be. Also, the order history from scan should be available, even if its isnt by you. Would advise contacting them too
    Good luck,

you could claim on the house insurance for the damage it caused, corsair do not insure products attached.

You put a Hiper Type-R into it?

    I'd be ducking for cover

True, but may as well send the Samsung drives back to manufacturer/retailer and see what they say.

    Hey! Don't insult it
This PSU has lasted me a good few years. Longer than the Corsair did, anyway .

Now ya see, that's a problem. I bought them off Gibbo. He bought them from Novatech at the stock price, and I bought them off Gibbo for the same price. they worked out at £87 each or something. So basically, I didn't buy them through a retailer .

I had a Type-R 580W... if you search posts by me in the Scan forum, you'd probably get an idea of what I think about them, although equally I imagine you could guess

Maybe direct RMA to Samsung then? Or maybe he can return them to Novatech for you?

It was a "back hand deal" type thing, Novatech knew nothing about it. Saved me over £130 on the 4 of them. (2 of them went when I sold my i7)

Re: Just spent the whole morning installing a new PSU :'(

So it would appear I need a new PSU ASAP then?
All this talk of Hiper's dying is making me nervous.
should last me a week or so until I can buy another or get this one RMA'd.

Mmm yeah I doubt GTA would be much of a laugh with an 8400GS.

Maybe try GTA 2 for a bit instead

Those video cards are pretty equal in performance. You didn't improve by anything.
