    Re: Webcam

Pretty much any will do, although there are specific ones which can do "hd" video, eg; Logitech Quickcam pro 9000

+1 on the VX1000, I have never used the mic, but the cam itself is good. Never let me down

    Re: Webcam

I've got a VX-1000 and I've never managed to get it working on W7 x64. Only advice I've come across so far is doing a format/clean install (which seems ridiculous). In fact, I've never had any webcam work on W7 x64. I bought the VX-1000 specifically to work with W7, as it was marketed as being W7 compatible.

Might be something wrong with my setup, but they work in XP on my crappy laptop. Might want to have a look around the Windows 7 Forums as there's a few people with similar issues and no real resolution to them.

    Re: Webcam

Very strange! I'm on windows 7 Pro x64 and it works fine. You'd think microsoft would make these things to work perfectly with their own OSes.

    Re: Webcam

    Yeah you'd think that..
How long ago did it start working as when I tried one of those about 6 months ago it wouldnt work and the OS just picks it up as a USB2.0 camera and doesnt know what to do with it..
It was plugged in until earlier today (mic worked but no cam) when I gave it to the boss instead as he wanted to skype..

    Re: Webcam

Been working for a few months at least. Did you have any problems running the installation software?

Might be worth trying again if you haven't recently. Might save a few pennies
