Overclocking 940.

My current setup is suffering from some weird issues. Basically, I had 3.6GHz running at 18x and a voltage increase of 1.75v from 1.5V, stable.

Do you think it is a acceptable voltage increase from 1.5 to 1.75v? It's now on 1.85v, and hasn't blue screened yet.

Cooling is Corsair H50, and I'm using the 120mm fan that came with my new ACTS840 instead of the Corsair version. It's quieter and I'm guessing been tested with the other fan's so I don't get any weird harmonics?

The corsair fan is simply too loud for my liking.

1.75 is very high. I would recommend 1.55max; I would never go above 1.5 personally.

I think that's way too high, although AMD processors can tolerate higher temps than Intel processors, it doesn't mean they won't die either. With 1.75V Core volts your processor is likely to die within the next few weeks so I'll back it down if I were you. Just out of interest, what's the temperatures with such a high voltage?

Official AMD overclock guide which contains what I can assume to be safe temps.

As long as your second fan has the ability to pump as much air as the corsiar one it shouldn't be a problem on the chance the cooler needs it. How were your temps as the fan should only get loud at high rpm.

Basically, 1.55V is the max you'd want to go, perhaps maybe 1.50V. You'd also want to look at the temperatures, obviously if they're over 60 degrees load you should lower your overclock and lower the core voltage too. I'd try to stay under 55 degrees load if I were you.
