80mm x 80mm x15mm silent fan

Hi

Looking for a decent 80mm slimline fan for my NAS chassis. The fan it came with emits a faint ticking sound that is anoyying the hell of me. Any recommendations for a silent but decent airflow fan 15mm thick appreciated. The fan is housed on a plastic door and keeps the HDDs cool so no chance of using a standard 80mm fan

I saw those. The SilenX fans are aptly named if the X means "not" as they are far from silent. In fact someone claimed they arrived at the dbA figurers they quote by running the fans in one room, shutting the door and measuring the sound in another room!

Ideally I'd like to get a Sanyo Denki Petit Ace 80mm x 80mm X 15mm fan but they are not easy to get hold of in the UK

Okay now sorted - found some Yate loons at Aquatuning and a Hiper on Amazon

I know im late but one of my favourite tricks is the 7 volt mod
if that doent work then i get a fan

I don't think the 7 volt mod will fix it - its already spinning very slowly but is such a badly made fan that it ticks over with a soft but never ending ticking sound...... there is a problem with the quality of the motor/bearing everything really.

I have the hiper blue led one and the fan works well but 2 of the leds have gone out.

Thanks, not really getting it for the LEDs though.
