XFire 4350

I did a bit of a donkey and ordered 6 Sapphire 4350's instead of 3. So...I now have 3 just kicking around.

As an exercise, how would a XFire's pair of 4350's compare with a single 8800GTS 512? Or shall I just lob one in my HTPC and flog the two others?

They wouldn't. Not even vaguely. A 4350 has 80 stream processor, so 2 would have 160. A 4670 has 320 stream processors and is left standing by an 8800GTS. Whatever you do with them, don't bother trying to crossfire them

(besides, AFAIK 4350s don't have crossfire fingers, so you'd be looking at "software" crossfire, which must have hellish overheads...)

As scaryjim says, they have abysmal gaming performance....

But, they are quite awesome media centre cards and quite cheap. use what you can and then return or flog the rest.

I think my HTPC has an HD2400...so is the 4350 going to be better?

Not noticeably...the HD2400 can already decode blueray/hd-dvd and perform lossless audio decoding anyway....

So, no plus points that I can think of.

I'll send them back then! No point doing surgery on the HTPC for little or no gain and it works fine.

If you want to do Dolby True-HD or DTS HD Master Audio I would get an HD5450 when it is released.
