    Battle of the "cheap" watercoolers...

    £60 CWCH50: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Corsa...lus-AM3-NEW-V2

    vs

    £45! NQ-3580: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/North...control-Retail

Is the Corsair really worth the extra cash, they look pretty similar to me???

Just trying to get my PII 965 C3 to 4GHz (yeh I fell for all those "C3's do 4GHz on air" reviews lol)

What are your thoughts guys - and please spare me all the "get a proper water cooling setup" stuff...

Re: Battle of the "cheap" watercoolers...

Get the Corsair one and buy some decent 120mm fans for the rad - as well as the rest of your case.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Re: Battle of the "cheap" watercoolers...

thanks, I'm going to mount the rad outside the case, in free space, no point blowing hot air through it,

might need to get the hack saw out to do it though! Is the block/pump that much better on the CWCH50?

I wouldn't be surprised if they came out of the same factory...

Re: Battle of the "cheap" watercoolers...

I've got a feeling that they are actually made by the same OEM, the corsair uses a new improved pump & block compaired to the older one in the NorthQ

Re: Battle of the "cheap" watercoolers...

I'll probably go for the CWCH50 in the end, it does look like a later revision of the same design, and the Corsair warranty is worth the extra £15.

Re: Battle of the "cheap" watercoolers...

They are both made by Asetek but the Corsair has a few improvements. The North Q's had a habit of "ticking" as well.

Re: Battle of the "cheap" watercoolers...

Thanks thats good to know, the rest of my kit is near silent so ticking would get right on my tits.

Corsair it is then, unless there is another sealed-loop system out there for ~£50?

There's also the new CoolIt Eco ALC
    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/193030
However I don't know what it's like off hand, other than just another option.

Re: Battle of the "cheap" watercoolers...

Thanks, looks like the same design again?

    I also saw the DM-1000 here: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Cool-...nd-AMD-AM2plus

but its too much really, you may as well go DIY for that sort of money...

Not the dm-1000, the new Eco ALC, if you looked at the link you'd of seen it's only £61.20

Re: Battle of the "cheap" watercoolers...

I meant the Evo has the same design as the CWCH50 just with a square block instead.

The DM1000, which costs too much, doesn't have a combi pump/block.

The Evo might be worth a look-in though, Ill try and find some reviews...

Re: Battle of the "cheap" watercoolers...

Just noticed scan cut the price by £5, almost down to the MSRP.

Any idea if scan will stock the Eco? Have they ever stocked CooIt gear?
