Text From PC machine

Hi.

My company would like to look in to sending automated text messages. the best way for us to do this would be to get a sim card pop it in a "DEVICE" and then set up some software with a load of mobile phone numbers in it so by clicking a button it will send a pre written text message.

I know taxi companys etc have these and would like any info you might be able to add.

So does anyone know of the "Device"?

You may want to goggle "bulk SMS services" there are a lot of providers out there offering this kind of service.

to expensive, we would prefer to do it ourselves with an unlimited sim package.

Buy a cheap phone and a PAYG SIM, connect it to the PC and use software such as MyPhoneExplorer to send SMS from the PC (via the phone).

Just incase you don't know, O2 are doing a fantastic deal with any PAYG SIM, called "web and go", £10 a month, unlimited texts - pretty perfect for what you need if you do what mycarsavw said.

Another thing we used to use was a email to text service, you emailed the phone number@mmail.co.uk and it was sent as a text message (with the recipient being charged). Not sure if this is still offered?
