The X3 720 is being replaced by the X3 740 although it is hard to say when it will actually come out!!

This is what I would get:

    Phenom II X4 955BE ~ £125

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/AMD-P...he-125W-Retail

    OR

    Phenom II X4 925 ~ £107

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/177044

    GA-MA770T-UD3P~ £67 to £68

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/167782

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/GIGAB...770T-UD3P-MOBO

    4GB DDR3 ~ £75

    http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/p...L9D-4GBRL.html

Run this at 1333MHZ using lower latencies.

    HD5770 1GB ~£120

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/175731

    500GB Samsung F3 ~ £36

Come on Will, you can afford it, go all out!

The above poster has indeed posted some nice ideas, I'd go AMD for value.

Re: New Build budget around £400

This is what I would get:

    AMD Phenom II X4 955 ~ £120

    http://forums.hexus.net/newreply.php...te=1&p=1868745

    Asus M4A785TD-V EVO ~ £69

    http://www.scan.co.uk/TodayOnly/Index.aspx

The motherboard has an 8+2 phase VRM with cooling, all solid capacitors and the HD4200 IGP with 128MB of dedicated DDR3.

If you don't want to overclock the processor get the following 785G motherboard:

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/179183

It only has a 4+2 phase VRM with no cooling and does not have all solid capacitors. It does have 128MB of DDR3 dedicated to the IGP.
