    Cooling Advice

I'm wondering how to get the temps down on my system. My i7 920 is running at ~49C @ 3.48GHz (166 x 21, 1.21v) and am thinking that could be a bit better. I've got a Titan Fenrir cooler using chill factor 2 in my CM690 with 2x120mm exhaust fans on top, 1x120mm exhaust rear along with one of those akasa PCI exhaust units and 1 x 120mm intake at the front and a 1 x 120mm fan at the bottom. The unit itself is under a desk (shown here). Any suggestions on getting this down?

dont worry about those temps, save your money for something else as you will spend quite a lot for a couple of degrees.

    Re: Cooling Advice

I know how you feel, I've gone a bit mental on cooling, my X3 720 sits at 3.4GHz and idles at 24oC because I am a nut job and have more aluminium in my PC than components it seems, lol.

What kind of fans are they? What kind of fan is on the cooler? The standard one? What is your fan profile set up as? What is the orientation of the Fenrir?

Saying all that though, the others are right, that's not high, what's it at loaded??

    Re: Cooling Advice

29 degrees at idle running 4ghz, but you can expect that with £500 of dual water cooling loops !

    Re: Cooling Advice

standard fan which came with cooler. there's 3 x coolermaster fans, 2 x akasa amber series and a cheap pc world jobby. fenrir is set to expel the hot air out the top and fan profile is on the motherboards turbo setting currently. last test came out under load using linpack with idle room temp of around 15C at a max of 72C, which is a lot lower than it has been, though i've not run a test for a while. doesn't look like i've had too much to complain about really as those temps seem pretty reasonable
