    AMD X2 1 pin broken

Erm, I was just about to put a 6000+ up for sale but looked carefully and a pin went screwed/bent.

Trying carefully as you like, I tried to align this again but it's broken off.

Can a CPU work with 1 pin missing?

Can I do anything, or have I now got a lovely keychain item?

I bought it only last year..

Depends on the pin, check the AMD site for am AM2 pinout diagram and work out what it is that's broken off.

If you manage to find an AM2 pinout send it my way, i've never been able to find one

all i can get hold of is SKT 940, which is close but no cigar

Re: AMD X2 1 pin broken

Modern CPUs have an awful lot of +ve and ground pins to cope with the current requirements. Odds are with you will get away with it, with slightly reduced overclocking headroom. You would need to track down a pinout though to make sure. Even then, I doubt I would buy a cpu off ebay with a pin missing

Re: AMD X2 1 pin broken

Yeah I wouldn't sell it with 1 pin broken unless I 100% tested or knew it would work, and then i'd sell it heavily discounted.
