CM690 Blue Expansion Clip Broken!
Ok,
So when trying to get my gfx card out I broke the blue clip which holds it in place, meaning when putting the card back it wont lock, thus the card is loose and unstable.
Does anyone know a way around this or is it possible to order a replacement blue clip?
I've emailed Coolermaster, but also asked here as I know it is a popular case!
thanks alot

Could you remove one of the clips from another PCI slot and use it for the gfx card?
Re: CM690 Blue Expansion Clip Broken!
use a small screw to hold it in place. i've found the tool-less design for the expansion cards on this case pretty poor at holding in cards (especially dual-slot ones) so i've just screwed them in

Right so is there like a proper hole to screw in? (Sorry just haven't done it before!)
Re: CM690 Blue Expansion Clip Broken!
There should be if I remember correctly and the spare screws are neatly held in a row down the back of the 5.25" bay.

You'll want the slightly larger screws from the bottom half for a pci/pci-e card.

Re: CM690 Blue Expansion Clip Broken!
If your graphics card uses two slots at the back of your case, then you want to fully remove both the clips. (ie fully remove the clips from all slots the card uses.)
oh and I found a good shot of the clips when open

you can see the holes and the little lumps on the clips that slot into the hole, well that's where the screw goes.
Re: CM690 Blue Expansion Clip Broken!
you don't need to remove the blue clips to use the screws, I found all of the blue clips were inadequate in holding any of my cards, I just opened them out to the maximum to allow me space to use screws and then just closed the blue clips as far as they could go so it didn't stick out so much at the back.

Have you found that it has held them in place well?
And did you also use one of the larger srews provided with the case?
Re: CM690 Blue Expansion Clip Broken!
The screws hold the cards in place very well, and yes i used the 2nd type of screws in that column on the case.
Re: CM690 Blue Expansion Clip Broken!
The larger of the screws are standard M4 screws that are used on all cases for pci cards, securing the motherboard and case panels.
The smaller screws are standard M3 screws that are used for hard drives, optical drives and any other devices that go into 3.5" or 5.25" bays.
(they are included incase you do not wish to use the tool-less features)
M3 and M4 screws are standard throughout all pc cases, the only other screws used are an odd imperial screw size for fans (I cannot remember what it is off hand)
