its a good idea however the other suggestions are gd to, must wait for something to happen in futurr. for gpu i think amd have got it sussed, my 4850 clocks down to like 100/150mhz when im not gamin which saves loads

It's a start, but personally I'm upset that ATI didn't bring in something like NVidia's Hybrid Power for desktops where if your motherboard has onboard graphics it does the 2D work, turning off the discrete GPU entirely. AFAICT NVidia's hybrid power worked in exactly the same way their new "Optimus" for laptops will work: it routed its output through the IGP regardless of which card was actually doing the work. If ATI could get something like that working (particularly when Fusion arrives with on-die GPU) it'd be a much bigger step forward, IMNSHO.
true but for me my board lacks onboard and is still using less power than normal so yh itd a start and also fits peoples different requirements lol. it csn go further and i hope it does :)
