I would be looking at a pair of 1GB DIMMs so that the RAM can run in dual channel. If you don't want DVI I would look at the following monitor instead:

This DVD writer is only £1 more than the DVD-ROM drive you have listed:

You should be able to get free postage from Scan when you reach 20 posts:

edit: i actully dnt knw anything about monitors
HD ready? Hmm, wouldn't read too much into labels like that.
At the end of the day, the more pixels there are the better in most cases. I've been using 1440x900 for a few years now, but it's starting to feel a bit small so I want to move over to 1920x1200.
I just think that 1366x768 is a bit small these days, I'd be looking at 1440x900 or 1920x1080 to be honest. You can pick up a decent 1920x1080 panel for about £110, so they aren't that expensive. Depends how much room you have as well - 1440x900 tends to equate to 19", whilst 1920x1080 usually equates to 22"-23".
Acer X203 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor 1600x900 50,000:1 (Dynamic) 5ms VGA - Black
this however dont have dvi does this make a significant difference?
Make sure that you get the C3 stepping of the X4 955BE:
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/190673
I would also check these web pages on the Scan website for special offers:
http://www.scan.co.uk/TodayOnly/Index.aspx
http://www.scan.co.uk/ShopOffers/Index.aspx
The Today Only offers last aroun 24 hours from midday onwards.
DVI means better image quality but TBH I would prefer a VGA 20" monitor over a DVI 18.5" monitor though. Also you may need to buy a DVI cable with cheaper DVI monitors too as they usually do not include one.
is the Acer X203 a good monitor ?
No idea to be honest, don't know about Acer. At the end of the day though, when it comes to monitors, there isn't a big difference at the same price point. If you wanted to spend £200 on one, then yeah, you can get better quality screens that use different tech. If you compare a load of similarly sized monitors at a similar price then the tech will be exactly the same in each of them.
There aren't that many panel manufacturers (I think LG makes a very large proportion of them), so a lot of the different makes will have exactly the same screen, just a specific set of buttons and case.
Be Quiet 530W Pure Power PSU - 120mm Fan Dual 12V Rails 5x SATA 2x PCI-E
Saw this PSU at £44 and thought wow. Now not so sure as the reviews are thin on the ground. It is the only one in the pure power range. The others (which are more expensive) seem to all be straight power.
not sure its any better than what you have chosen already!
nah i think mines better OCZ Stealth XStream 600W PSU - SLI Ready ATX2.2 12cm Fan £55
would the OCZ Stealth XStream 600W PSU - SLI Ready ATX2.2 12cm Fan handle all the above easily and maybe the upcoming 5830
