Unhappy Dell GX280 SFF HDD copying?

Hello guys this is my first post to this great forum.
I have a Dell GX280 Small Form Factor with a SATA HDD going bad. I need to copy it to a IDE HDD. The IDE data cable connecter for the CD on the motherboard will not take a regular IDE data flat ribbon cable as it does not have a slot for the alignment peg. How can I copy the SATA drive to an IDE drive? Any help would be appreciated.

Buy a SATA to USB adaptor for less than a tenner and transfer data to another machine. This is quite handy and I do recommend you have one for such emergencies. You should find a ribbon cable with all pins blank to attach to mobo though.
    Hope this helps.

Can't give you better advice than that really. I'd personally go for one of these - that is, an adapter to convert any SATA or IDE device to USB. Incredibly useful thing to have lying around for < £20...
