How good are Win Tact PSUs??

I am thinking of getting the following PSU:

    http://www.win-tact.com.tw/data/file...41989xn2f8.pdf

The PSU can supply 30A on its 12V rails so with a molex to PCI-E power adaptor it looks like it should be able to power an HD3870 and an E4300. I would probably also have to get a molex to SATA converter too. Unless I have missed something the PSU does look to have a decent specification.

I am not so sure about the OEM but it seems that Win Tact were an OEM for PC Power and Cooling.

I wonder how noisy the PSU will be considering it is a server PSU??

I thought PC Power and Cooling. used to make there own PSU's

Specs look good esp as it lists 30a continuious and 35a max

I Take it this is for a shuttle, I did find a really good one before xmass, I'll see it I can find it again.

Yep!! It is basically going to power the mini ITX conversion I am going to do. Like I said there are two other PSUs in my second post that I am also considering. However the Win Tact PSU would be cheaper even with the converters.

Re: How good are Win Tact PSUs??

Bah I cannot find it some odd etailer I'd never used before, took me a good week of hunting (yes this was to replace a dead shuttle psu)
I think the really nice one I found was a Zippy.

I'll have to check my records at work to find the details.

personally speaking the "shuttle" PSU's are hidiously overpriced.

I have heard of Zippy but they are more famous in the USA AFAIK.

The Shuttle PSUs are very expensive and also not all models are easy to get hold off!! My SD37P2 uses a propriety PSU unlike most of the later P2 models so I am screwed if it goes kaput!!

This is one of the reasons why I am modifying my old Shuttle SN41G2.

I don't think that it would be enough for an HD3870 and a E4300 unless I was to get a 200W Dell one I saw in a thread.

Also the Pico PSU would be more expensive too(I have seen the 1U PSUs I linked to cheaper on other retailers).
