    Current Project

Decided to have fun with SFF again, enjoyed the Epia of old so decided this time to go for the new shiny Core i range.

So far i have ordered (and should be here tomorrow...)

    Core i3 530
    2gb Corsair XMS3
    LanParty P55-T36
    Silverstone SG06
    Samsung SN-T083C
Corsair H50 (not sure if im going to like this, if i dont like it in this case i will put it in my ATX PC)

All i have left will be the HDD (Intel X25-V) and GFX (Thinking Sapphire HD 5770 Vapor-X 1gb) to get. The GFX and the Cooler are whats bothering me and if it will all fit.

Last couple of bits should be ordered for next pay day i think

not sure you'll want a non reference 5770 as this will be dumping more hot air into the case, rather then venting it out the back

    Re: Current Project

Ive seen a couple of builds using the 5770 from Sapphire and they say its OK but the heat was one of the issues i have with it.

I need to do some more research on it before i buy it which is why i havent yet. We will see though, will have a better idea once i get at least the case and mobo/cooler in there...

I can then see what room/vent i have left.

Looking at the case it has good ventilation whether or not it will be enough is yet to be seen.

The H50 will be ok in the SG06, corsair did a guide for the SG05 which is similar: hxxp://forum.corsair.com/upload/h50minipc.pdf

Got mine with the case I think... you're right though, they certainly are miniscule.

    Re: Current Project

If i had checked the box id have found them! They were in a bag with other screws under the bottom polystyrene protector

Sadly i bought a Sata Laptop Drive so i need to get a Mini Power connect convertor for that!

Need to adjust the fan as its catching the radiator so making a noise, cable ties are too tight i think

    Re: Current Project

    Me again!

Well i went to Scan yesterday and bought the HDD and a cable i needed so its now fully fitted and Win7 installed.

Overall im impressed, very quiet, quick and the HDD is as expected impressive!

I will be taking some pictures shortly and will upload them, but i need some help with the GFX card. Because i have the H50 in there i have at most 7.5" of space for it, the one i wanted is going to be too long i fear.

So does anyone have some suggestions for a GFX card (ATI/Nvidia i dont mind) that is under 7.5" in length, has at least one HDMI out and is under 15db idle? It could probably go to 8" if i moved the fan over a bit but will have to see about that...

Alot to ask but im really struggling with GFX cards these days

    Re: Current Project

I think the 5770 is too much for me, i dont need a full on power gaming card so the cheaper 5750 will do me.

    http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/gra...0-1gb-review/1

Currently looking at this, it fits, is quiet, has low power consumption and has the HDMI i need. Around the £100 mark as well which keeps the entire build just under £500.
