Good 2.0 or 2.1 speakers recommendations
Moving from my Logitech 5.1 setup to a 2.0 or 2.1 setup. I am using headphones more and more for gaming so want to save cable and desk space with scaling down my speakers.
Anyone recommend a good 2.0 or 2.1 set up for around £50, prefer a 2.0 setup. It is only for general use, ie light music, light video use etc etc.

I would go with the logitech z-10

£53

I've got the Series 1 T20s, and they are good. I would expect series 2 to be even better.

+1 vote for the Creative T20's big sound and clear. Two small faults, a Blinding blue LED on the front and they do fall over easy if knocked by the cat (Small base, which could be a plus for some) . The LED was fixed with a tiny bit of paper glued over.

Also logitech keyboard, mouse and logitech speakers have all serves me very very well...

I have Altec Lansing MX5020s and they've done very well for me - good quality and balanced sound.
I think they've been replaced with newer models now, but you can still get them:

The series ii have a much more subtle LED behind the volume knob.

I'd go for something cheaper first....

£13 buys a fair pair of speakers and then if they're not up to the job you want you can easily flog them to a friend or family member or give as a gift.
Because headphones are gonna be the main stay of gaming and loud quality music so why get a 2.1 system and take up all that floor space?
Re: Good 2.0 or 2.1 speakers recommendations
Torn between the Logitech Z10 + Creative T20
Z10 seams to have better quality and control over sounds that the Creative, but I am concerned about the USB connection of the Z10's.
Does this bypass the sound card and how easy is it to use headphones, I can't see no headphone jack on the speakers.

On the very top end of the list you'd be looking at Aego M or Swans M10, both >100 quid unfortunately. For 50 quid i'd go for the edifier range, the m3300sf would suite you quite nicely and its predecessor m3300 is well known to best anything in its price range of 40-50quid so go figure.
Re: Good 2.0 or 2.1 speakers recommendations
If you do want to spend a bit more I agree with Zsev - I have the Aego M and they are absoloutely fantastic. In a totally different league to anything else mentioned. I know you said £50 but if you possibly can - do your ears a favour and go for the Aego M's as I garuntee you'll be listening to your entire collection over and over again just to hear what you've been missing all this time.
